Visit statistics

This site counts its visits with its own software and without cookies or third-party trackers. For every page served it stores the time, the page, the language, the response time, the site you came from (only the domain name), and the browser family, operating system and type of device read from the browser's user agent string.

Visitors are told apart through a fingerprint made of your network address and user agent mixed with a random secret that changes every day and is discarded shortly after. The address itself is never stored, the fingerprint cannot be turned back into it, and it cannot be used to recognise you from one day to the next. Those detailed records are deleted after 90 days; only daily totals are kept.

Searches made in the site search box are recorded (the text searched and the number of results) to improve the content.

Cookies

A cookie remembers the language you chose. If you log in, a session cookie keeps you logged in and a CSRF cookie protects the forms. No cookie is used for advertising or for tracking.

Accounts, comments and messages

If you register, your email address and the profile data you fill in are kept to run your account. Comments store the network address they were posted from, to limit abuse. Messages sent through the contact form are kept so that we can answer them.
